Key Responsibilities:
As our Guidance Counselor youll play a vital role in empowering students to succeed spiritually academically socially and emotionally. Youll provide support and guidance to students families and staff helping children develop their gifts and talents in alignment with our values. Heres how:
- Provide personalized counseling to help students navigate academic challenges social situations and emotional growth.
- Lead engaging classroom sessions on relevant topics.
- Collaborate with parents teachers and community resources to ensure each student receives the support they need.
- Promote understanding and respect among students while fostering a positive school culture.
- Offer small group sessions to address shared concerns and interests among students.
- Facilitate smooth transitions between grade levels and prepare students for high school success.
Qualifications:
Must have an Iowa Teaching License with Endorsement 172: School Counselor K-8. If you have a passion for working with youth wed love to hear from you. Our ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children and adolescents preferably in a school setting.
- A deep understanding of student psychology social-emotional development and mental health support.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students families and colleagues.
