Job Description
The Manager Product Design is responsible for leading and scaling digital design experience encompassing both user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design. This leader will drive the visual interaction and experience design strategy for Rings digital presence ensuring cohesive interactions through innovative systems and patterns. Working in close partnership with content design and product management leadership they will create seamless touchpoints that connect Rings physical and digital worlds while ensuring design solutions align with product strategy and business goals. Through synthesis of customer insights market trends and business objectives they will inform UX and UI decisions establish scalable design systems and drive continuous improvement in user engagement accessibility and conversion.
This position requires flexibility to work across multiple time zones with regular domestic and international travel for in-person meetings events and workshops.
Key job responsibilities
- Partner with content design and product management leadership to align design strategy with product roadmaps and business goals
- Define and scale design system establishing frameworks for consistent user experiences
- Lead end-to-end design processes driving cross-functional reviews and strategic product decisions
- Use quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions and present to executive stakeholders
- Drive strategic alignment across organizations advocating for design excellence and user-centered processes
- Guide teams toward cohesive approaches while clearly communicating complex concepts
- Implement measurement and optimization frameworks for continuous design improvement
- Set design vision and optimize team structures to meet business objectives
- Balance design solutions with technical constraints and customer education needs
- Manage complex digital product initiatives across multiple workstreams
- Foster cross-functional collaboration and innovation
- Develop and mentor designers within the organization
- Represent product design at the executive level securing resources and driving strategic initiatives
A day in the life
Youll lead product design team aligning digital experiences with Rings broader portfolio vision. Youll set objectives for the design organization in partnership with product management and content design leaders champion user-centered design thinking and optimize customer journeys using sophisticated analytics. Working hand-in-hand with these key partners youll ensure that design vision and execution are tightly integrated with product strategy and content systems. Youll foster innovation within your team represent Rings design philosophy externally and lead initiatives to create transformative digital products that enhance our smart security offerings and drive market growth.

The Creative and Design Group (CDG) is a collaborative multi-disciplinary organization of designers engineers writers researchers product managers and program managers working together to bring the RBKS product vision to life. We enjoy what we do have big ideas and tackle complex problems by taking risks that drive global solutions. In every work stream we immerse ourselves in insights and invent on behalf of our customers. We brainstorm scenarios they will benefit from and solutions to pain pointscrafting innovative products that aim to connect the physical and digital customer journey.
- 7 years of design experience
- 4 years of leading design teams experience
- Experience managing teams
- Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and interaction design user-centered design process
- Knowledge of user experience principles and techniques
- Experience with a variety of design tools such as Figma Adobe CC Fireworks Visio Axure and Dreamweaver
- Experience working cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from product management engineering testing and marketing
- Experience with agile/scrum

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $225500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
