Responsible for advising business and GroupTech units on Information Security for enterprise wide and complex initiatives so as to facilitate compliance with the Westpac Group Information Security Framework and target risk position for information security.
- Stakeholder & Partner Management: Monitor emerging security threats and legislative changes advising leadership to ensure awareness and risk mitigation; collaborate with business partners and third-party providers to safeguard Westpacs systems.
- Service Delivery: Assess and integrate security solutions to align with business needs without service disruption; contribute to urgent security responses and stay updated on threat landscapes.
- Strategy & Innovation: Support the development of long-term information security strategies through research analytics and technical advice; assist in identifying and refining improvement initiatives.
- People Leadership: Lead coach and structure teams effectively to ensure high performance and capability alignment with Westpacs strategic goals and people principles.
- Security Advisory: Act as a key advisor on security matters across business units ensuring proactive threat management and alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
What do I need
- Background/knowledge in networks and Splunk/Elastic preferred
- Manage and optimize enterprise web application protection rules and configurations.
- Analyse traffic and lead technical discussions with application/business teams to enhance controls and improve caching.
- Enable self-management of CDN changes for application teams.
- Automate and streamline daily tasks using tools like Terraform Bitbucket Jenkins Python APIs and DevOps practices.
- Develop and update Power BI dashboards to track security enablement across internet-facing apps.
- Collaborate with tech teams to maintain optimal service performance.
- Strong communicator able to perform under pressure and handle critical incidents.
- Experienced in application security IT risk management audit or related roles.
- Skilled in custom business automation and persistent in driving key outcomes.
- Knowledgeable in information security standards (e.g. ISO 27001) and regulatory frameworks.
- Background in IT operations security support or customer service.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
