Job Description
The person in this position works under the supervision and direction of the building administrator and is responsible for teachingsummer enrichment classes; four one week sessions (4 days/week) with differnet themes each week including math and reading supports within. Teachers will be paid at their hourly rate.
There are a total of 5 teaching positions available.
Qualifications Required
- Current Oregon Teaching License.
- Demonstrated positive classroom management skills and student-centered instructional skills;
- Knowledge and skills in instruction/learning methods and techniques;
- Knowledge and application of skills in teaching Common Core aligned Math curriculum and using assessment data;
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively and collaboratively with colleagues support staff administrators students parents and patrons;
- Ability to meet the Junction City School District Standards of Competent Teacher Performance and the Oregon Standards for Professional Educators;
- Ability to perform computer skills and incorporate the use of technology in the classroom;
- Responsibility to know understand and adhere to school rules and District policies;
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current first aid/CPR card.
Qualifications Desired
- Experience in or ability to teach in a middle school;
- Knowledge of student portfolios work samples and benchmark activities to monitor student learning growth and meet Common Core Standards;
- Collaborative/team building skills;
- Knowledge of Special Education;
- Working knowledge of Basic Spanish.
