Job Description

Summary
This is a full-time leadership role responsible for overseeing Special Education services a unique youth-designed charter school in East Oakland. The Coordinator ensures compliance with SELPA requirements while delivering direct services supporting IEP goals training teachers and coordinating services for students with special needs. This role is ideal for an experienced Special Education professional who thrives in alternative education and student-centered environments.

What Youll Do

  • Deliver push-in/pull-out instruction aligned to IEP goals
  • Coordinate and lead IEPs 504s assessments and SST meetings
  • Monitor SEIS and compliance reporting ensure timely updates
  • Oversee related services (OT speech assistive tech etc.)
  • Train/co-coach teachers on accommodations and differentiation
  • Engage families in transition planning and college/career pathways
  • Support data assessments and campus needs as part of school admin team

Experience Youll Need

  • Valid CA Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential (Required)
  • 2 years working with students with special needs ideally in urban or alternative settings
  • Experience leading IEP processes compliance management and SEIS
  • Strong collaboration communication and coaching skills
  • Spanish fluency preferred
  • Bachelors degree required; Masters preferred
