Job Description
JOB SUMMARY : This role will build foundational relationships to transform Gilcrease into a community centered museum that is welcoming for all visitors. This position will support broad departmental efforts from internship coordination to program development and implementation and community outreach. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS ( RESPONSIBILITIES ): Provide administrative support for internships. Assist with departmental scheduling. Organize projects and initiatives via project management software. Coordinate and support school programs as needed. Contribute to departmental evaluation efforts to inform future endeavors and support fundraising efforts. Coordinate with other departments to realize LCE projects programs and initiatives. Track select departmental expenses and support budgeting efforts. Schedule and coordinate meetings with community partners. Support community outreach efforts. Assist with volunteer coordination as needed. Serve as a Museum and Learning & Community Engagement Department representative at community events as needed. Support programming efforts by developing activities preparing materials and contributing to program implementation. Conduct research to support departmental projects programs and initiatives. Regularly track and document project activities Take detailed notes at meetings and work sessions and share these along with summaries with staff and project stakeholders. Perform other duties as assigned. WORKING ENVIRONMENT : Work will take place indoors and outdoors both on Gilcrease campuses and throughout the community. The hours are Monday Friday 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Some evenings or weekends will be required due to programming schedules. Physical Demands
Lifting 25 pounds above ones head and the ability to climb two flights of stairs are required. Manual dexterity to operate normal business equipment and computers as well as hand and power tools necessary for typical exhibition installation is required.
Required Qualifications
Knowledge/Skill/Ability Highly organized and detail oriented. Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines. Demonstrate sensitivity to and experience working with diverse communities. Extremely proficient with Microsoft and Google applications Proficient in project management software. Willingness to learn new software applications as needed. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Equivalent Education/Experience Bachelors degree in education Art History Visual Art Native American Studies Anthropology or related area. Minimum one year experience coordinating projects for or providing administrative support in a non-profit preferably a cultural institution.
Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in Spanish. Grounding in American art history and culture. Experience with program and project development and evaluation Familiarity with Tulsas cultural landscape and community organizations.
