Job Title: Batch Operations Lead Expert
Location: Durham NC 27709
Interview Type: Webcam or In-Person
Job Summary:
The Batch Operations Lead will serve as the primary liaison for batch operations within assigned IT projects. This expert-level role involves overseeing and improving batch workflows ensuring timely processing and providing high-level technical support during disruptions. The position also includes managing job scheduling through SOS Job Scheduler maintaining policies and procedures and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to meet performance and continuity standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead batch operations and provide production support for large-scale IT initiatives

Analyze workflows and implement enhancements to improve job scheduling efficiency and reliability

Manage job scheduling in SOS Job Scheduler: create modify and remove jobs as needed

Ensure the accuracy and currency of scheduling software including patches and updates

Develop and maintain batch processing policies SLAs and continuity plans

Collaborate with application teams and business owners to define service levels and incident response procedures

Support backup and recovery integration with batch systems to ensure business continuity

Use UNIX shell scripting and log file analysis to monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs

Work with Java and Eclipse environments for supporting application integration

Communicate effectively with technical teams project stakeholders and external partners
Required Skills and Experience:

7 years of experience supporting batch operations for large IT projects

7 years of hands-on experience in UNIX environments (shell scripting log analysis)

7 years of experience working with Java and Eclipse-based applications

7 years of experience with job scheduling software preferably SOS Job Scheduler

7 years in a leadership capacity supporting batch operations

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
