Job Description

Job Title: Desktop Support Technician
Location: Nashville TN

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to provide technical assistance and desktop support across a diverse user base. The technician will resolve desktop computing issues install and maintain hardware/software and provide support to both on-site and remote users. This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills a solid understanding of various operating systems and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide desktop support to end users for hardware software and network-related issues

  • Install configure and maintain desktop hardware software and peripherals

  • Support both on-site and remote users with technical problem resolution

  • Analyze diagnose and resolve system issues and document all findings and solutions

  • Collaborate with analysts programmers and application teams in development and support environments

  • Test and assist in the development of technical documentation for software and hardware deployments

  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and work within Microsoft Novell and Unix operating environments

  • Identify and resolve hardware malfunctions and provide recommendations for equipment replacements or upgrades

  • Maintain accurate records of support activities including service requests problem resolution steps and time tracking

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of current experience in a desktop support role

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of Microsoft Novell and Unix operating systems

  • Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to identify and correct hardware and software issues efficiently

  • Familiarity with remote support tools and VPN technologies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple support tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A Network or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow Jira or Remedy)

  • Knowledge of additional office automation tools and enterprise-level desktop deployment tools
