Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to provide technical assistance and desktop support across a diverse user base. The technician will resolve desktop computing issues install and maintain hardware/software and provide support to both on-site and remote users. This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills a solid understanding of various operating systems and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide desktop support to end users for hardware software and network-related issues
Install configure and maintain desktop hardware software and peripherals
Support both on-site and remote users with technical problem resolution
Analyze diagnose and resolve system issues and document all findings and solutions
Collaborate with analysts programmers and application teams in development and support environments
Test and assist in the development of technical documentation for software and hardware deployments
Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and work within Microsoft Novell and Unix operating environments
Identify and resolve hardware malfunctions and provide recommendations for equipment replacements or upgrades
Maintain accurate records of support activities including service requests problem resolution steps and time tracking
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of current experience in a desktop support role
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of Microsoft Novell and Unix operating systems
Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
Ability to identify and correct hardware and software issues efficiently
Familiarity with remote support tools and VPN technologies
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple support tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
Certifications such as CompTIA A Network or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
Experience with ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow Jira or Remedy)
Knowledge of additional office automation tools and enterprise-level desktop deployment tools
