Job Description
Job Title: Network Specialist I
Location: Nashville TN
Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Network Specialist I to support the installation monitoring and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure including LAN MAN WAN and Data Center environments. The role involves performing both proactive and reactive network configuration and troubleshooting tasks to ensure high availability and optimal network performance. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in managing network equipment such as routers and switches and demonstrate strong problem-solving skills in a dynamic IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Install and monitor network software and hardware across LAN MAN WAN and Data Center environments

Monitor network performance and tune systems for optimal operation

Manage router and switch configurations including access lists and routing tables

Analyze network anomalies and system alerts; collaborate with senior staff on corrective actions

Implement test and monitor network changes to resolve issues and optimize service delivery

Provide second-level fault management and problem resolution for network-related incidents
-
Perform proactive network maintenance and updates to meet evolving user and infrastructure needs

Coordinate with external service providers to troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity problems

Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations performance reports and issue resolutions
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in LAN WAN or Data Center network administration

Proficiency in configuring and managing routers switches and related networking components
-
Understanding of network protocols IP addressing routing and VLANs
-
Experience with network monitoring tools and diagnostics utilities
-
Ability to interpret logs alerts and performance data to resolve issues proactively
-
Strong troubleshooting documentation and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Technology Network Engineering or related field

Certifications such as CompTIA Network Cisco CCNA or equivalent
-
Familiarity with tools such as Cisco IOS SolarWinds Wireshark or similar platforms

Experience in enterprise government or large-scale multi-site environments
