About the Opportunity:Join Client a 100% employee-owned aerospace and defense engineering company that has supported U.S. military and government missions since 1977. As part of a 2000 strong team of engineers scientists and IT professionals youll contribute to Phalanx Griffon (PG) - the Air Forces open architecture aerial node delivering multi-level secure data to warfighters in seconds.
This is a newly created position supporting Major Release 2 (FY) of PG and will play a key role in architecting the tactical and enterprise networks that underpin one of the most advanced warfighter communication platforms in development today.
What Youll Do: Architect & DesignLead the design of PGs network reference architecture across airborne and ground nodes.
Define advanced routing schemas (BGP/OSPF/IS IS) QoS IPSec overlays and cross-domain rules compliant with NSA/DISA STIGs.
Produce SysML/CAMEO digital artifacts for integration with government digital thread initiatives.
Configure routers switches SATCOM modems SDRs and firewalls in a system integration lab (SIL) environment.
Develop and implement automated test harnesses using IXIA Spirent Ansible etc. for network validation.
Embed Zero Trust controls and continuous ATO (RMF/eMASS) practices into DevSecOps pipelines.
Guide implementation of SD-WAN OpenFlow or similar dynamic routing technologies for hybrid airborne/ground networks.
Work with platform SPOs and flight-test teams to convert lab environments into flight-ready network builds.
Develop IATTs operational runbooks and help-desk support documentation (Elastic Prometheus Grafana).
Serve as the senior network SME briefing technical readiness and risk to Government IPTs.
Mentor mid-level engineers and support knowledge transfer to Air Force personnel.
U.S. Citizenship and Active TS/SCI clearance are required.
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related field (Masters preferred).
8 years of experience in the design integration and security of mission-critical IP networks for DoD or IC.
Expert-level knowledge of routing/switching (Layer 2/3) SATCOM RF/mesh and secure transport enclaves.
Experience with cross-domain solutions NSA Type 1 crypto and multi-level secure architectures.
Skilled in scripting/automation (Python Ansible Terraform) and test tools (IXIA Spirent etc.).
CCNP/CCIE JNCIE or similar expert-level certification.
Prior experience with CJADC2 ABMS OMS/UCI Link 16/22 TTNT or airborne tactical networks.
Familiarity with containerized networking (CNI service mesh) and classified DevSecOps (Iron Bank Platform One).
Proven experience managing RMF packages through eMASS to full ATO.
Agile Scrum or SAFe certification.
