Job Description

Senior Scrum Master with Baseline Security Clearance -ACT NSW SA TAS (Hybrid / Onsite as required)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master with a proven ability to lead agile delivery teams particularly in government or highly regulated environments. The ideal candidate will be adept at facilitating agile ceremonies coaching cross-functional teams and driving outcomes that align with strategic objectives. This role requires strong interpersonal skills hands-on agile leadership and the ability to apply SFIA-aligned practices for measurement tools team performance and specialist advisory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily stand-ups sprint planning retrospectives and demos across 1 2 delivery teams.
  • Coach team members on Agile/Scrum/SAFe principles and best practices.
  • Identify and prioritise appropriate performance measures scales and targets (SFIA Measurement L4.
  • Collaborate with delivery leads and stakeholders to ensure agile metrics are tracked analysed and reported for continuous improvement.
  • Provide guidance on the adoption and tailoring of agile methods and tools (SFIA Methods and Tools L4.
  • Facilitate effective cross-functional collaboration improve team dynamics and resolve conflicts (SFIA Organisational Facilitation L5.
  • Contribute to organisational employee experience efforts helping team members navigate uncertainty and team expectations (SFIA Employee Experience L4.
  • Provide specialist advice in agile delivery within government or security-sensitive contexts (SFIA Specialist Advice L4.
  • Collaborate with architecture testing and business teams to support project delivery while adhering to government standards and frameworks.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments.
  • Demonstrated success facilitating agile teams delivering complex digital products or platforms.
  • Experience working with Commonwealth or State Government clients (essential).
  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks such as Scrum SAFe or LeSS.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian toolset (JIRA Confluence) Azure DevOps or similar.
  • Knowledge and application of SFIA skills in measurement facilitation and advisory.
  • Excellent communication coaching and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Ability to guide teams through ambiguity and resistance to change.
  • Strong reporting and data-driven decision-making skills.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Baseline Security Clearance (Active)
  • Australian Citizenship (essential due to clearance requirements)
  • Experience supporting federal or state government programs.

Desirable:

  • SAFe Agilist or Certified Scrum Master (CSM/PSM) certification.
  • Knowledge of Commonwealth Digital Service Standard and DTA guidelines.
  • Familiarity with agile maturity assessments and team health check tools.
