It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem developing unique financial products including Afterpay/Clearpay to provide a better way to send spend invest borrow and save to our 50 million monthly active customers. Today Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations with a culture geared toward innovation collaboration and impact. Weve been a distributed team since day one and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. The Role
The Identity Lifecycle team designs and builds scalable solutions to manage customer identity information. We focus on supporting our customers beyond the initial onboarding stage.
Work from anywhere: This role can be performed from any location in Australia and New Zealand
You Will
- Design build and support the core systems used to track usage and check product limits in Cash App
- Manage the scalability of the Limits Platform to support Cash Apps growth
- Work closely with product teams as they leverage the Limits Platform for their products
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners in design product risk and data science
- Be responsible for the availability and performance of a critical system making rapid decisions at scale
- Help define and implement our roadmap and identify which problems the team needs to solve
You Have
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience)
- 3 years of relevant industry experience
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java Kotlin Golang or similar)
- Experience working with APIs and backend systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Basic familiarity with databases such as MySQL or DynamoDB
- Exposure to cloud-based infrastructure (AWS Kubernetes) is a plus
- Interest in financial systems and risk management is a plus

Block is a globally distributed company and this role will require working with other employees in multiple time zones. You may be required to perform work outside of normal business as part of this role.
