Job Description

Occupational Therapist - The Memorial Hospital

We are seeking to recruit a motivated and dynamic team member to join our Allied Health team. If you are passionate about providing service excellence and patient care with proven ability in flexibility compassion and initiative we want to hear from you.

About the role:

The position is responsible for providing a high standard of evidence-based occupational therapy services to individuals/patients of varying ages and cultural groups within ACHA. The occupational therapist will work at the Memorial Hospital and participate fully as a member of the Rehabilitation team.

  • The occupational therapist will plan assess implement and evaluate occupational therapy services in collaboration with individuals/patients/significant others and the multidisciplinary team so as to achieve identified goals and health outcomes in an effective and efficient manner.
  • The occupational therapist may be required to take a leadership role in the direction to therapy assistants providing guidelines for individual client care as well as acting as a resource to provide education as directed by the Allied Health Manager. The occupational therapist may also be required to provide professional support / clinical guidance to other occupational therapists as directed by the Allied Health Manager.
  • The occupational therapist will work as part of the health care team adhere to ACHA policies and procedures contribute to the efficient effective and economic running of the relevant ACHA hospitals demonstrate a commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement Work Health and Safety and deliver a high standard of customer service at all times.

About you:

  • Works well independently within a team with a can do attitude
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service in an empathetic manner
  • Proficiency in the following:
  1. Provision of comprehensive Occupational Therapy rehabilitation services across inpatient and/or outpatient programs
  2. Assessing providing and evaluating clinical care in collaboration with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team to achieve identified rehabilitation goals
  3. A commitment to ongoing learning via participation in quality improvement initiatives clinical supervision and professional development programs
