At a Glance!:Early Head Start (EHS) Home Visitors provide in-home services to families with young children. In partnership with parents they plan and deliver individualized home visits focused on child development parent-child interactions and engaging learning activities. Home Visitors manage an assigned caseload and are responsible for coordinating comprehensive services and supporting each childs and familys developmental progress.

Seldom in emergency situations pick up children up to 50 lbs. (with assistance)
Seldom multiple uses of bleach solution for cleaning/sanitizing classroom and home visit supplies daily/weekly
Seldom classroom and home furniture rearrangement
Seldom drive day and/or night with children and families using program vehicle
Seldom assist with installing and carrying infant (up to 30 lbs.) and toddler car seats in program vehicles
Seldom sit for long periods of time (up to 7 hours) during mandatory trainings
Frequently sit either on child-sized chairs or the floor
Frequently squat
Frequently bend over to pick up items and/or assist children (30-40% of the time)
Frequently extended periods of standing
Frequently maintain sight and sound supervision of children with parents in their home and at Play groups
Frequently walk to and from vehicle to family visit location during outside play at family visits and/or at Play groups while navigating uneven and cluttered terrain
Frequently drive day and/or night to and from work site to families homes to conduct family visits (10-11 families per week or more visits if needed)
Frequently lift/carrying materials (5 -10 lbs.) to and from car and to and from family visit

TB test completed within the last year
Food Worker Card
Valid Drivers License if hired in a transporter position
Cleared Portable Background Check through MERIT (to include fingerprinting)

Provide Certificate of Immunization Status (CIS) or Acceptable Version of CIS in accordance with the Washington Department of Health to include:
o MMR Vaccine or proof of immunity to measles

Conditions of Employment

This position is part of a bargaining unit subject to the WFSE HE collective bargaining agreement.
