Job Summary
The Emergency Assistance Coordinator II Special Programs will oversee all aspects of the Student Emergency Assistance Program which includes the Maverick Pantry the Emergency Assistance Fund and emergency housing. Assure adequate systems and resources are made available to students facing financial and/or basic needs support. This role will work closely with other campus resource providers clinicians student affairs units and community support systems in coordinating a response that best benefits the student in ensuring their continued enrollment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Maverick Pantry Manages the procurement of food toiletries parenting supplies and school supplies based on pantry needs. Maintains Pocket Pantries and emergency food bags across the campus. Establishes implements and maintains an electronic case management system that tracks both inventory and students utilizing pantry support services. Provides semesterly and annual reports on usage. Responsible for the ongoing compliance with all food bank safety and health department regulations and guidelines. Efficiently and effectively stores and rotates all inventory for the food pantry. Manages a staff team of 5-10 individuals consisting of graduate assistants undergraduate students interns and volunteers with the assistance of an Administrative Assistant I. Oversees educational programming related to food insecurity including tabling presentations video production Maverick Engage and social media communications. Creates strong partnerships with student organizations that prioritize the Maverick Pantry as an act of service. Establishes and advises Swipe Out Hunger at UTA as well as collaborative programming with UTA Dining Services. Promotes the Cap & Gown rental program. Facilitate Emergency Housing Placement Determines eligibility for emergency housing placements. Oversees emergency housing through collaborative efforts with Housing the CARE Team Emerging Mavericks and other necessary on and off campus partners. CARE Team Support through Emergency Assistance Funding Manages and determines eligibility of Emergency Assistance applications. Collaborates with Financial Aid and Scholarships office to provide timely emergency funding to applicants. Triages students requesting for emergency assistance including the coordinating of services between the Dean of Students Office CARE team campus and community stakeholders and any other referral sources deemed appropriate. Assists with campus and community outreach efforts to raise awareness of and build resources to support students in need. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in social work public health higher education and student affairs counseling and/or related field. One (1) year of Previous experience working with college students and/or K-12.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree from an accredited institution in social work higher education and student affairs counseling public health or related field. Two to three (2-3) years of previous experience working in higher education. Understanding of social service agencies. Experience conducting presentations to both large and small groups. Direct experience working with traditional/non-traditional aged college students.
Work Schedule
Monday Friday; 8:00 AM 5:00 PM.
