Position Summary: Fieldstone Animal Inn is seeking an energetic highly organized and compassionate Pet Care Supervisor to join our leadership team. This crucial role involves overseeing daily operations leading a dedicated staff of approximately 20 pet care professionals and ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment possesses strong leadership skills and demonstrates a deep understanding of animal behavior and care.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Staff Management:
- Lead train and motivate a team of pet care attendants fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
- Manage daily shift operations delegate tasks effectively and ensure all procedures are followed diligently.
- Provide ongoing feedback and coaching to staff contributing to their professional growth and adherence to company standards.
- Manage staff performance working to accomplish departmental and facility goals.
- Oversee completion of checklists and ensure all daily tasks are performed efficiently.
Pet Care & Welfare:
- Provide comprehensive and compassionate care for all animals including feeding administering medications (with careful attention to ailments and measurements) cleaning and engaging in positive interaction.
- Expertly read and interpret dog body language ensuring the safety and positive dynamics within daycare playgroups.
- Handle all types of animals and manage various situations including emergencies with composure and good judgment.
- Prepare pet meals and treats according to specific recipes and client feeding instructions ensuring proper measurements.
- Maintain strict hygiene standards performing continuous cleanup throughout the day including hosing down and disinfecting facility areas.
- Manage all facility laundry and dishwashing generated by animal care.
Client Relations & Communication:
- Provide exceptional customer service interacting with clients respectfully and transparently even in challenging situations.
- Effectively communicate with pet owners regarding their pets well-being behavior and any special needs.
- Support the front desk by engaging with clients directly as needed.
Facility Operations & Administration:
- Demonstrate strong computer literacy and the ability to quickly learn and efficiently operate our Gingr software for reservations record-keeping and general operations.
- Ensure accurate data entry and management of client and pet information including vaccination records.
- Assist with various administrative tasks which may include supporting party planning activities.
Qualifications:
- Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a dog daycare setting including at least 1 year in a direct dog daycare attendant role.
- Proven managerial or supervisory experience with a team.
- Demonstrated expertise in reading dog body language and managing dog playgroup dynamics.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new software (e.g. Gingr).
- Exceptional organizational skills attention to detail and a proactive independent work ethic.
- Ability to work independently take initiative and follow established procedures and checklists.
- Reliable mature and able to accomplish goals within a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
- Flexibility in scheduling including availability on weekdays weekends and holidays.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds comfortably.
- Comfortable working in various weather elements as outdoor work and hosing down areas are regular duties.
