Vocational Nursing Professor
Role:
Participates in team teaching to provide instruction in classroom laboratory and clinical settings to students in the Vocational Nursing Program.
This is a 11-month full-time position.
Medical premiums covered by Grayson College for FT employee only
Sick Leave Accrual- 2 weeks per year
Personal Leave- 2 days for FT employees per year
Holidays- Labor Day Thanksgiving Break Winter Break Martin Luther King Jr. Day Spring Break Memorial Day Juneteenth and Independence Day
Tuition-FT employees their spouse & dependents are eligible for coverage of full Grayson College tuition amount.
Responsibilities:
45% Provides instruction in Classroom laboratory and clinical settings as assigned. Maintains academic standards as established by the College Health Sciences Division and the Vocational Nursing Program. Meets classes as assigned and provides assistance to students outside of class.
20% Coordinates clinical experiences to meet clinical objectives and maintains collegial attitude with clinical sites.
15% Works as a team member in the Vocational Nursing Department; complies with the faculty responsibilities as outlined in the Faculty Handbook and the Colleges Policy and Procedure Manual. Serves on college committees and task forces as requested.
5% Assists in budget planning and selection of textbooks and other teaching aids.
5% Participates in recruitment and registration of nursing students.
5% Participates in the development implementation and evaluation of the nursing curriculum.
5% Performs other duties as assigned by the Vocational Nursing Program Director.

Qualifications:
An Associate degree in Nursing is required.
A BSN is preferred.
A minimum of three years of current professional clinical nursing experience is required.
Teaching experience in a Nursing Program is preferred.
A current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas is required.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to lead both faculty and students to achieve goals.
Highly organized and able to handle multiple assignments.
Strong computer skills.
Experience tracking student learning outcomes analyzing resultant data and implementing improvement plans.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements designated by the clinical agencies.
Must be able to travel to clinical facilities and provide clinical instruction two days per week. In clinical must be able to physically stand for prolonged periods of time perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation lift patients and move from room to room or maneuver in limited spaces.
The employee may be required to wear certain personal protective equipment such as masks coats goggles gloves or shields when in clinical situations.
