The Commercial Grounds Maintenance (CGM) Crew Leader is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing a year-round landscaping crew delivering high-quality commercial grounds maintenance services. This position is accountable for crew supervision operational planning client relations safety compliance and execution of maintenance tasks in accordance with company standards and contractual obligations.
Supervise lead and train crew members in the performance of routine commercial landscape maintenance services.
Ensure timely execution of all grounds maintenance requirements including mowing edging pruning and seasonal tasks.
Safely operate and maintain landscaping equipment and machinery.
Load unload and transport heavy materials and equipment to job sites.
Coordinate daily work assignments equipment needs and material pickups.
Maintain positive working relationships with clients contractors and internal teams.
Monitor and adjust irrigation systems including controller settings and minor repairs.
Conduct daily safety briefings and participate in department meetings.
Prepare and submit timekeeping records and other required documentation.
Drive and operate company vehicles including trucks with trailers while transporting crew and equipment.
Push walk-behind and ride-on mowers
Edgers string trimmers chainsaws and pruning tools
Blowers sprayers tillers aerators and slit seeders
Hand tools (e.g. shovels picks rakes)
Occasional operation of tractors and other specialized equipment

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis

Must wear work boots and Bland Landscaping uniforms presenting yourself in a clean professional and polite manner
Must adhere to all company safety practices when handling chemicals and equipment
Must wear company-issued eye and ear protection as required
Must have strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead others
Must be willing to obtain a North Carolina Pesticide Applicators License
Valid NC drivers license and a good driving record preferred
Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Must comply with all Bland Landscaping Company policies and procedures
This is a physically demanding outdoor position that requires daily interaction with tools machinery and various environmental conditions. Flexibility reliability and a proactive work ethic are essential.
