This position is open to Alaskan Residents only.


What You Will Be Doing:
As the Audit and Review Analyst 2 you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating audit work to ensure compliance with contract requirements Department of Health (DOH) procedures and applicable laws. Your duties will include conducting desk audits of Medicaid providers issuing sanctions and tracking recoverable amounts. You will also monitor key metrics from the Medicaid Program Integrity section and prepare them for annual reporting to the legislature. Additionally you will collaborate with staff from DOH partner agencies the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and federal oversight agencies to enhance program integrity.

The Department of Health Medicaid Program Integrity is a small team whose mission is to preserve and protect the integrity of the Medicaid program by proactively developing strategies to identify deter and prevent fraud waste and abuse.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is in the Frontier Building in midtown Anchorage a secured office space with free parking. We offer a professional office environment with daily collaboration among dedicated colleagues and we also provide a hybrid work schedule.

Any combination of education and/or experience that provides the applicant with competencies in:

Equivalent to those typically gained by:
Certification as a Certified Public Accountant;
And/or
Post-secondary education in accounting public administration business administration or a closely related field that includes or is supplemented by 16 semester hours/24 quarter hours in accounting and 3 semester hours/4 quarter hours in auditing;
And/or
Professional experience performing independent audits of organizations to assure fiscal compliance with contractual or grant terms or performing less complex management analyses and/or operational audits.

It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom on-line self-study and on-the-job) from accredited and unaccredited sources and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.

Professional experience means work that is creative analytical evaluative and interpretive; requires a range and depth of specialized knowledge of the professions principles concepts theories and practices; and is performed with the power or right to decide or act according to ones own judgment.
