You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailOur Procurement division is seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to join our team. In this role you will provide essential operational support to the Procurement Manager and collaborate with various departments to facilitate the procurement of supplies equipment and services. Reporting directly to the Procurement Manager you will be an integral part of a close-knit four-person team.
We aim to fill this position by mid-July. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. based at our office located at 200 College St. in Downtown Asheville.
Purpose of the position:
The purpose of this position is to provide operational support to the Procurement Manager and assist other departments with procurement of supplies equipment and services.
Minimum Education Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire): High school diploma or GED including or supplemented by courses in business and office practices and at least two (2) years of experience in technical accounting purchasing or buying work; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: Certified Local Government Purchasing Officer (CLGPO)
designation through the Carolinas Association of Governmental Purchasing in association with the UNC School of Government must be obtained within three (3) years of appointment.
