The Veterinary Clinical Laboratory at Easter Bush Pathology part of the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies is seeking a skilled Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead a team of five technical staff and work collaboratively with eight veterinary clinical pathologists.
The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Veterinary Clinical Laboratory. Key responsibilities include resource management Health and Safety compliance staff coordination and quality assurance. The role also involves supporting the development of laboratory services and the implementation of new diagnostic tests.
The laboratory provides essential diagnostic services to all clinical hospitals within the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies including the Small Animal Large Animal and Equine Hospitals and also processes samples from external veterinary practices and research groups.
The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative team in a state-of-the-art facility ideally located with excellent bus routes and commuter links at the foot of the picturesque Pentland Hills. The post includes access to a range of University of Edinburgh staff benefits.
This role is open-ended (permanent) and full-time (35 hours per week).
The salary for this post is at Grade UE07: 40497to 48149per annum.
