Job Description

RN Med Surg Permanent Role
  • Location: Brenham TX 77833
  • Shift: 12 HR Nights 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Guaranteed: 36 Hours
  • Compensation: Based on experience
Responsibilities:
  • Assess plan implement and evaluate nursing care for a diverse group of med-surg patients.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor patient condition and provide updates to physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Collaborate with care team to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
  • Document care and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care medications discharge planning and health maintenance.
What Will Make You Successful In This Role:
  • Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of state and federal nursing laws regulations and guidelines.
  • Familiarity with hospital policies and medical protocols.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and pharmacology including common medications and side effects.
  • Commitment to ethical nursing practices and patient confidentiality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office electronic health records and scheduling systems.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Field of Study: Nursing.
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas (or compact license).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
