Job Description
- Location: Brenham TX 77833
- Shift: 12 HR Nights 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed: 36 Hours
- Compensation: Based on experience
- Assess plan implement and evaluate nursing care for a diverse group of med-surg patients.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Monitor patient condition and provide updates to physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
- Collaborate with care team to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
- Document care and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Educate patients and families regarding post-operative care medications discharge planning and health maintenance.
- Deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards and procedures.
- Knowledge of state and federal nursing laws regulations and guidelines.
- Familiarity with hospital policies and medical protocols.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and pharmacology including common medications and side effects.
- Commitment to ethical nursing practices and patient confidentiality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office electronic health records and scheduling systems.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Field of Study: Nursing.
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas (or compact license).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (or must be obtained within 30 days of hire).
