Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Manage job descriptions and qualification requirements for junior and first-level senior staff.

  • Post job adverts on relevant platforms and screen applications.

  • Coordinate interviews assessments and selection processes.

  • Conduct reference checks prepare offer letters and contracts.

  • Oversee onboarding and orientation for new hires.

Employee & Industrial Relations

  • Act as the first point of contact for employee enquiries and concerns.

  • Handle basic union-related issues and clarify HR policies as needed.

  • Support conflict resolution and employee grievance handling.

  • Assist the HR Manager in driving engagement and retention strategies.

  • Champion employee well-being and a positive workplace culture.

Performance Management

  • Support performance appraisal activities and feedback collection.

  • Help line managers identify development needs based on reviews.

  • Contribute to performance improvement planning.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement across the factory.

HR Policy & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local labour regulations and company policies.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.

  • Support policy development communication and implementation.

  • Prepare and submit HR reports and documentation as required.

Training & Development

  • Coordinate delivery of training programs and staff workshops.

  • Assist in identifying training needs and developing materials.

  • Monitor training effectiveness and provide improvement feedback.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Support payroll and benefits administration.

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all entitlements.

HR Digitalization

  • Lead the digitization of key HR processes: leave management employee self-service and onboarding systems.

Time & Attendance

  • Supervise Time Clerks and ensure accurate time and attendance tracking.

  • Monitor clock-ins/outs overtime and absenteeism.

  • Address discrepancies in attendance and work hours in line with company policy.


Requirements

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resource Management Business Administration or related field.

  • 3 5 years of HR experience preferably within the FMCG industry.

  • HR certification (e.g. CIPM HRCI) is an added advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles practices and Nigerian employment laws.

  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information.

  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.

  • Demonstrated people management skills.
