Job Description

Class Teacher with Middle Leadership Responsibility PSD Lead (SEN)
Location: Outer London
Contract: Permanent
Salary: MPS/UPS SEN Allowance TLR 2

Are you an experienced SEN teacher ready to take on a leadership challenge that makes a tangible impact on pupils lives

A specialist setting in Outer London is looking for a passionate and creative SEN Class Teacher to take on a key middle leadership role overseeing the Personal Social Development (PSD) strand of the curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and lead the area of personal growth independence and life skills for pupils with a diverse range of complex needs.



Requirements

The Role:

You ll lead a class of pupils with complex needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) Autism and associated behaviours delivering engaging and differentiated learning. Alongside this youll be the whole-school lead for PSD designing and embedding real-life skills personal responsibility and wellbeing into the curriculum.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality inclusive lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes.

  • Embedding strategies for communication sensory processing and behavioural regulation.

  • Leading on PSD curriculum planning enrichment and cross-school development.

  • Supporting staff in delivering PSD and modelling best practice.

What Were Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with solid SEN classroom experience.

  • Knowledge of SLD ASD and complex communication needs.

  • Familiarity with tools like PECS AAC and sensory integration strategies.

  • Proven leadership potential with a collaborative proactive approach.
