DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The Director of Residential Operations and Self-Advocacy Coordination is responsible for managing the Residential departments daily activities ensuring efficient and effective operations and aligning the department with organizational goals. The Director of Operations and Self-Advocacy Coordination works closely with department leadership to implement consistent procedures across all Residential programs in all 3 counties. This position also assists with the development of ACHIEVEs Self-Advocacy program. This positions specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the subsequent items and are characterized in the following five standards of performance defined as below:
I. JOB KNOWLEDGE
- Creates and implements operational procedures across all Residential programs
- Provides continued education and training to employees throughout the Residential program
- Assess needs throughout the Residential program and identifies process improvements to enhance employee satisfaction
- Identifies evidence-based training opportunities for DSPs and frontline supervisors.
- Continually audits and monitors residential homes for compliance with local/state and federal regulations
- Ensures efficiency and alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
- Assists with the onboarding and training of new frontline leaders
- Provides training on self-advocacy skills including speaking up for oneself understanding rights and accessing resources.
- Assists to facilitate self-advocacy groups and meetings.
- Promotes self-determination and self-advocacy principles.
- Support individuals in advocating for their needs and rights within the system.
- Work with individuals to identify goals develop plans and take action.
- Assists the Self-Advocacy program to organize and facilitate self-advocacy events workshops and training sessions.
- Collaborates with other staff community partners and families to support self-advocacy efforts.
- Participate in meetings and committees related to self-advocacy and disability rights.
- Participates in an Administrator On-Call rotation
- Act as role model to people receiving services and staff
- Any additional duties as assigned
II. TEAMWORK
- Encourage and maintain a positive working relationship with all departments in the agency parents staff consumer and community partners
- Communicate all health safety consumer and/or program concerns sensitive situations and incidents to supervisor
- Attend and participate in all required and/or requested departmental or agency meetings
III. DOCUMENTATION
- Complete required documentation in conformance with rules regulations policies and procedures and billing practices
- Perform documentation reviews to ensure records are maintained in conformance with rules regulations policies procedures and billing practices
IV. COMPLIANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY
- Identify and report any untoward incidents
- Identify report and/or correct all safety hazards including physical plant problems and/or problem work practices and assist with investigating all work-related accidents as requested
- Participate in any investigations as required
- Complete agency investigations as assigned
- Comply with all State and Federal regulations along with agency policies and practices
V. TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT
- Attend all required training and staff meetings as required by the department agency and/or State and Federal regulations
- Attend at least four (4) additional hours of agency approved training in a related topic that is above and beyond the required agency training
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Masters Degree in Human Services field plus three (3) years experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity

A Bachelors Degree in Human Service field plus five (5) years experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possess good interpersonal written oral and communication abilities and effective time management organizational and problem-solving skills
Able to work scheduled hours that may include mandatory overtime weekend and/or holiday timeframes. Also maintain an acceptable work attendance as defined in the agencys personnel policy manual and handbook.
Able to work independently and as a member of a team
Able to manage multiple projects and complete assignments with extreme attention to detail; grammar spelling punctuation and report/letter writing must be excellent
Be computer literate with knowledge in agency operating systems and applicable software required for department needs.
Demonstrate sound judgment in normal work and emergency situations
Must physically be able to perform required certifications and lift 50 pounds
Possess a valid drivers license acceptable to the agencys insurance carrier
Pay range is $60k - $75k
