Summary of Job Duties:

This position is a Clinical Assistant Professor a 12-month non-tenure track appointment in the School of Nursing. This position will teach advise mentor and evaluate students throughout the nursing program. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.


Qualifications:

Required Education and or Experience:

  • A bachelors degree in nursing and currently enrolled in a masters degree in nursing program; OR A masters degree with a major in nursing OR A doctoral degree with a major in nursing OR A doctoral degree (Ph.D. or EdD) and a masters in nursing;
  • Applicant must also have a current unencumbered Arkansas or multi-state RN license from a compact state or the ability to obtain Arkansas licensure prior to the position start date;
  • Applicants must also maintain in-state residency during employment.

Preferred Education and or Experience:

  • Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field or current enrollment in a doctoral program;
  • Teaching experience and recent experience in nursing practice or nursing education in the area(s) of the program need;
  • CNECertification.

Job Duties:

  • Active participation in team planning decision-making as well as curriculum review and revision;
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current nursing practice and contemporary healthcare trends;
  • Effective integration of technology into teaching;
  • Demonstrate continued role development;
  • Development of research in area of specialization;
  • Serve on committees supporting School College University and/or health services organizations;
  • Participate in community service activities.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to teach and mentor students throughout the nursing program. Teaching may include clinical face-to-face online and/or hybrid formats;
  • Ability to work with a diverse population;
  • Computer literacy and experience;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings nights and weekends;
  • Ability to travel occasionally which may include overnight stays;
  • Ability to drive a motor vehicle and possess a valid drivers license;
  • Ability to maintain scheduled on-campus office days.
