Responsibilities

Manage financial records and ensure accuracy in financial reporting to support strategic decision-making. As an individual contributor you will have the opportunity to work and collaborate across various accounting areas.

Financial Research and Analysis

  • Collaborate with the Finance Department to provide comprehensive financial analysis.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of analytical tools and processes to measure and improve the efficiency of the finance department.
  • Develop automated applications to increase productivity and streamline financial operations.
  • Create and manage company-wide end-user reports to facilitate strategic metric analysis.

Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Reporting

  • Complete and validate weekly reports to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Enhance department processes and analysis for improved financial reporting.
  • Analyze financial statements and claim count data for monthly dashboards and Schedule P.
  • Analyze data for use in quarterly CFO calls to support strategic decisions.

GAAP & STAT Financial Statements

  • Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of GAAP and STAT financial statements.
  • Provide detailed financial statement information and analysis to WRBC affiliates auditors and other applicable parties.
  • Ensure the accuracy of workpapers and other documentation supporting these financial statements.
  • Post and approve journal entries as needed to maintain accurate financial records.

Other Functions

  • Prepare state-level statistical reports to support regulatory compliance and data calls
  • Assist in the annual budget process to ensure efficient financial planning.
  • Complete special projects as assigned to enhance the efficiency of the finance department.

May perform other functions as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products specifically Excel.
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft or other PC-based General Ledger software is preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with effective communication skills across all levels of personnel.
  • Insurance experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence technologies is preferred.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance Accounting Statistics or a related field.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees including:
Base Salary Range: $65000-$85000

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the scope complexity and location of the role; the skills education training credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
