Job Description
THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position functions as an engineering position in the Dams and Waterways Section in the Waterways and Wetlands Program. The primary function of this position is involved in performing engineering work in the field of hydrology and hydraulics as required for implementing the statewide programs on waterway management and flood plain management mandated by the Dam Safety and Encroachments Act the Clean Streams Law and the Flood Plain Management Act. A secondary function of this position is involved in performing independent engineering work in the field of hydrology and hydraulics as required for implementing the statewide programs on NPDES Stormwater Construction Permitting Erosion and Sedimentation Control and Post Construction Stormwater Management as mandated by the Clean Streams Law and the pertinent regulations promulgated there under; including Chapter 102 Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Management and Chapter 93 Water Quality Standards.
If this position is filled as a Civil Engineer Trainee (Hydraulic) the individual will serve a 12-month training period. During this training period there will be greater oversight of the employees duties formal training and on the job training to perform the Civil Engineer Hydraulic duties and implement the objectives of the Waterways and Wetlands Program.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday - Friday with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days a week. In order to telework you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Norristown.
- Salary:Most selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $64861.00(before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Four years of civil engineering experience and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
- A bachelors degree in civil engineering or in a closely related field which includes or was supplemented by major course work in civil engineering; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes possession of an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position also requires possession of a valid drivers license which is not under suspension.
Other Requirements:- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
