Job Description

Position Summary

Concordia University is seeking qualified applicants for a Graduate Assistant position within their Academic Resource Center. This part-time position will be located in Ann Arbor Michigan. Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in a related field and be confirmed enrollees in a Concordia University graduate education program in good academic standing.

This position will provide support for all ARC programs that can include assisting in scheduling exams tutors and peer academic mentoring. This position can be a one-year or two-year position depending on the graduate degree program they select from Concordia University.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with general oversight of the ARC student resources
  • Assist with scheduling and proctoring for the Testing Center
  • Assist with recruiting and overseeing student workers
  • Create engaging content for ARC social media accounts
  • Participate in ARC orientation for new students marketing and other student engagement activities
  • Create and facilitate academic and career prep workshops
  • Promote the use of services to students and the campus in a variety of ways: coordinating classroom visits creating brochures crafting outreach emails designing posters and hosting informational tables and events
  • Assist students in developing self-efficacy by identifying and overcoming obstacles that may be impeding academic success
  • Research and draft grants to support and aid Student Success
  • Complete purchase orders and requisitions for Student Success
  • Conduct research regarding best practices in Student Success
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
  • Complete all other duties as assigned
