Head of Health and Safety
Location:Basingstoke with flexible with travel to sites across the South
Salary:Strong Salary package
A leading construction organisation is seeking a Head of Health and Safety to lead and drive a robust compliant and forward-thinking health and safety function across its southern operations.
Reporting to the Group Director of SHEQ this senior leadership role will play a key part in shaping and implementing the organisations long-term health and safety strategy embedding a positive safety culture and ensuring full compliance across all business units and project sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and lead the strategic direction for Health and Safety across the group
- Design implement and maintain a compliant Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001)
- Drive continuous improvement via an evolving H&S improvement plan
- Ensure full legal and regulatory compliance across multiple sites and business units
- Lead internal and external audits and accreditations
- Provide expert guidance to site teams and senior leadership
- Monitor leading and lagging indicators and use data insights to drive performance
What Were Looking For:
- Must have previous experience working within construction industry
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health and Safety qualification is essential
- Chartered or Cert IOSH membership
- Excellent communication and influencing ability
- Experience managing health and safety across multiple projects / regions
- A proactive and strategic thinker confident in driving change and engagement at all levels
