Polaris CommunityThe Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards for china glassware tableware cooking utensils etc. using machine and manual cleaning methods; and also ensures the dishwashing area is maintained as a clean safe and sanitary facility.Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Sorts and rinses dirty dishes glass tableware and other cooking utensils and places them in racks to send through dish machine
- Sorts and stacks clean dishes and carries clean dishes to cooks line and other proper storage areas; rewashes soiled dishes before delivering
- Changes dishwater in dish machine every hour
- Washes pots pans and trays by hand
- Sets up or breaks down dishwashing area when needed
- Fills/empties soak tubs with cleaning/sanitizing solutions
- Assembles/disassembles dish machine as necessary
- Wipes up any spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry and free of hazards
- Notifies manager anytime dish machine wash or rinse cycle falls below safety standard temperatures
- Ensures that hands are always sanitized before handling clean dishes as well as maintains other sanitary procedures
- Removes food trash and garbage to dumpster as necessary
- Performs all other duties as assigned or directed

Skills & Abilities
Education: None
Experience: Six (6) months or more of commercial dishwashing experience desired
Other Requirements: Must be able to read labels on chemicals; knowledge of workplace safety procedures; must be able to adhere to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the United Church Homes Employee Handbook.
