Job Description
Software Engineering Team Lead Core Services
Location: Orem Utah
Team: Software Engineering Full-time
This is a hybrid role with an in-person interview required and regular
in-office collaboration. Remote-only applicants will not be considered.
At Nexio we power the payments behind the scenes.
Our platform enables businesses to move money faster smarter and with less friction. To
support this were building out rock-solid core services like authentication logging and
payment integrations that are used across all product teams. Were looking for a Software
Engineering Team Lead to guide this essential work and help make Nexios software systems
more scalable secure and friendly.
What Youll Own
Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on building Nexios core service APIs and
tooling including:
oAuthentication & Authorization (OAuth2 token management SSO)
oStructured Logging and Observability
oPayment Integration Services (e.g. Stripe Plaid internal APIs)
Own architecture and technical direction for high-impact shared services
Ensure performance reliability and scalability across the Core Services stack
Collaborate with product and application teams to deliver flexible reusable solutions
Uphold engineering excellence clean code maintainable systems and thoughtful
abstractions
Actively reduce tech debt and lead by example in best practices
What You Bring
8 years of experience in backend or full-stack development
Proven experience building scalable backend services for SaaS products
Experience collaborating effectively with offshore teams across time
zones to drive outcome alignment and continuous development.
Deep knowledge of auth systems (OAuth2 JWT etc.)
Strong understanding of logging best practices and observability tooling
Hands-on experience with payment infrastructure and compliance
Proficiency with modern JavaScript AWS (especially Lambda DynamoDB)
and Git
Leadership experience mentoring engineers managing sprints owning delivery
Bonus Points
Experience with service-oriented platforms
Familiarity with serverless infrastructure and tools like Terraform or Serverless
Framework
Passion for developer experience and creating reusable tools/libraries
Startup or high-growth company experience
Comfort working across remote/hybrid teams
