Position Overview:
We are looking for a Litigation Supervisor to lead and support our litigation team by overseeing paralegals and support staff collaborating with attorneys and driving efficient high-quality litigation processes. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of legal service and client satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supervising and managing paralegals and litigation assistants including hiring training assigning tasks and evaluating performance.
- Analyze existing workflows and team structures; identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance efficiency client service and productivity.
- Proactively respond to firm needs regarding team support; monitor team workload and adjust staffing as needed to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across attorneys paralegals case managers and other departments.
- Oversee and lead training programs to support the professional development of litigation support staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching performance feedback and conduct semi-annual performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with firm leadership and talent acquisition to recruit interview and onboard new litigation team members.
- Continuously review and refine department procedures in alignment with firm objectives.
- Implement and oversee a litigation calendaring software to ensure accurate and timely tracking of case deadlines hearings and court dates.
- Customize and manage Filevine for the Litigation Department; actively promote and enforce its use across all litigation staff. Ensure compliance and accountability in software usage.
- Resolve personnel issues that arise within the Litigation Department before they escalate to HR.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a related field or relevant work experience preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years experience as a paralegal in a mid to large size law firm and a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience.
- Demonstrated performance history of strong leadership collaboration communication customer service and problem solving skills in large law firm environment
- Possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills along with the ability to work well with lawyers and staff at all levels within the Firm while maintaining confidentiality.
- Proven organizational and analytical skills.
- The ability to resolve discreetly and effectively sensitive attorney and staff issues
