Northern Tier High Adventure Base of Ely MN is looking to hire Seasonal Winter Base Staff/ Support Staff. Positions available include:

  • Food Service Staff
  • Retail Operations Staff
  • Maintenance Staff
  • Office/Administrative Staff
  • Outfitting Staff
  • Management Team

These seasonal Support Staff position starts at $1590.00/month unless noted above and we provide all staff with food and housing. The experience however is priceless! If this sounds like the right opportunity for you apply today!


ABOUT NORTHERN TIER HIGH ADVENTURE BASE / BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA

Were a national high adventure base for the Boy Scouts of America we specialize in wilderness canoe treks in the Boundary Waters (Minnesota) and Canada as well as winter camping treks. In the summer Scouts from Northern Tiers three wilderness canoe bases explore millions of acres of pristine lakes meandering rivers dense forests and wetlands in Northern Minnesota Northwest Ontario and Northeast Manitoba. Our guiding values are the scout oath and law as well as providing life-changing experiences tailored specifically for scout units.

We employ hundreds of staff every year. Staff members come from all over the world and bring with them unique skills and talents. Our diverse and qualified staff work as a team and annually deliver the wilderness experience of a lifetime to thousands of youth and adults.


A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WINTER BASE STAFF MEMBER

As a Winter Base Staff Member you are vital to the success of our program. Responsibilities vary based on position but all work together to support base camp operations. This is one winter that you will never forget and a job that will be the winter adventure of a lifetime!

Northern Tier provides on-the-job training for all positions.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A WINTER BASE STAFF MEMBER

  • Age 18 or older
  • Available for the Winter from Mid- December through Mid-March with some positions available from Mid-December through early January.
  • Excitement for Winter activities
  • Passion for outdoor adventure and youth development

Can you think critically and function independently with minimal supervision Are you attentive to safety and take common-sense precautions Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Can you work effectively with both youth and adults Do you enjoy coaching others Are you patient and able to remain calm under pressure If so you might just be perfect for this winter support job! SEASONAL WORK SCHEDULE

These support staff positions typically get one day off per 6 days on and work throughout the winter from mid-December to mid-March or early January depending on position and schedule.
