Join GHD as a Senior / Principal Civil/Structural Engineer (P006)
Location: London Manchester Newcastle or Leeds
Reports to: Team Leader
Job Type: Full-time Hybrid Working Available
Are you ready to take the next step in your engineering career GHD is looking for a Senior or Principal Civil/Structural Engineer to join our growing team in the UK. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across the water industrial and infrastructure sectors all while contributing to the successful delivery of high-quality sustainable engineering solutions.
Youll be a key player in our multidisciplinary teams helping to shape the built environment through innovative design technical leadership and collaborative project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver civil and structural designs calculations and technical drawings across a variety of materials and structural forms.
- Lead medium-sized projects and contribute to larger complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Support financial and commercial management of engineering commissions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Apply engineering principles and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Use CAD 3D modelling and BIM tools to develop and refine design solutions.
- Collaborate with project managers design managers and technical leads to achieve best-for-project outcomes.
- Strong experience in civil/structural engineering design particularly in water and industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in geotechnical design including retaining walls and foundations.
- Ability to produce and review high-quality design documentation and reports.
- Understanding of how other building engineering disciplines influence structural design.
- Familiarity with Eurocodes and leading structural design software (e.g. Tekla/TEDDS Robot).
- Experience with 3D Revit modelling and BIM processes.
- Proven ability to lead and manage engineering projects.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (with advanced structural analysis and design).
- Chartered Engineer status (IStructE or ICE).
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Knowledge of engineering practices in water transportation industrial or energy sectors.
- Health Safety & Environment (HSE) compliance
- Project delivery performance (time budget quality)
