The NPI Buyer- Power Systems will play a critical role in supporting the development and introduction of new products within GE Aerospace Power Systems. This position is responsible for sourcing procurement and supplier management activities to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and components required for new product development. The NPI Buyer will collaborate closely with engineering manufacturing and supply chain teams to align procurement strategies with program goals ensuring compliance with GE Aerospaces SQDC (Safety Quality Delivery Cost) priorities.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities

  • Source and procure materials components and services required for new product development.
  • Ensure alignment with engineering specifications quality standards and program timelines.
  • Identify evaluate and onboard suppliers capable of meeting NPI requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure collaboration and performance.
  • Negotiate contracts pricing and terms to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Work closely with engineering manufacturing and program management teams to understand NPI requirements and timelines.
  • Provide procurement expertise to support design changes prototype builds and production ramp-up.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks including lead time constraints capacity issues and quality concerns.
  • Develop contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted supply for NPI programs.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with GE Aerospace policies procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and report key performance metrics related to supplier performance cost savings and delivery timelines.
  • Support lean initiatives and process improvements within the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Collaborate on initiatives aligned with GE Aerospaces FLIGHT DECK lean operating model.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Business Administration Engineering or a related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement supply chain sourcing or GE Operations Management Leadership Program (OMLP) Graduate

Additional Information

  • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the Aerospace & Defense industry
  • Experience in supplier development and managing global supply chains
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g. CPSM CSCP)
  • Experience with NPI programs and working in cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
  • Technical Background: Manufacturing Quality or Operations background in Aerospace or Industrial setting
  • Leadership ability: strong communicator decision-maker collaborative
  • Problem solver: analytical-minded challenges existing processes critical thinker
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to document plan market and execute programs
  • Established project management skills

The base pay range for this position is $94400.00 - 125900.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on 7/1/2025.
