Conant High School is seeking a Construction Trades teacher for a CTE (College/Career Technical Education) program based at Conant High School. This program is a part of the Region #14 ATC center. The primary responsibility of the Construction Trades instructor is to design and implement lessons and activities that support learner progress in developing the skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in a construction related field. The ideal candidate will:Ensure a safe secure learner-centered classroom environment that is conducive to learning at all work to build a positive professional relationship and rapport with each the District Learning Progressions and NCCER curriculum/instructional tools to plan lessons create assessments and deliver direct to personalize learning to the interests and needs of each individual with Career/ELO Coordinator and local industry to ensure Construction Trades courses continue to prepare learners with the mindsets skills and knowledge for success in a variety of potential construction career with other Construction Trades instructors to ensure all learners are actively engaged in quality instruction and hands-on learning instruction in critical thinking and embed such skill development into Construction Trades learning learners in acquiring the necessary skills to apply their learning in pursuit of a Youth Apprenticeship or Internship in a construction trades data from diagnostic tools standardized assessments and classroom assessments to tailor learner Individualized Educational Plans (IEP)/504 in professional development and learning opportunities to enhance pedagogy content knowledge and other related in parent/teacher conferences open-house transition events and other community timely and accurate records for learner performance and provide other proactive communication with learners and learner achievement and behavior and make appropriate referrals as in team meetings Professional Learning Communities and schoolwide meetings in support of learners and their and provide input for IEP/504 meetings as to emergencies to resolve immediate safety matters and appropriately implement the schools Emergency Response supervision of learners at all times while reinforcing positive norms and redirecting inappropriate behaviors using appropriate interventions and with the appropriate procurement of supplies and equipment for Construction Trades the safe use of equipment ensure the use of PPE and appropriate safety gear and assist administration with ensuring the timely maintenance and upkeep of all substitute plans in a proactive understand and consistently and fairly enforce school and District and follow applicable state and federal law to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and other duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of school.
