Job Description

Performs primarily support activities for the work-study program/ Assistant Director of Financial Aid Work-Study Coordinator.

Duties may include but not limited to:

  • Reaching to assist prospective applicants with the Work-Study Application process;
  • Assist in the posting process & record maintenance
  • Work collaboratively with supervisor to provide research on participants to ensure they are continually in compliance with the program requirements (e.g. weekly schedule checks etc.)
  • Ensure all active program participants submit their signed timesheets to the department and follow-up when necessary
  • Collect and file submitted timesheets according to established protocol by Work-Study Coordinator
  • Assist Work-Study Coordinator in Work-Study Program promotion
  • Copying;
  • Filing;
  • Supports Department in specific tasks as needed during peak-times;
    Complete special projects as assigned

Required Skills Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Follow-up and research activities as needed for assigned tasks
  • Provide answers regarding program questions to interested parties
  • Render assistance with compliance & maintenance of program requirements with job descriptions timesheets and authorizations
  • Assistance in Financial Aid Department presence in outreach activities for site
  • Must be dependable responsible and organized.
  • Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.
  • Must be able to prioritize work and complete projects in a timely fashion.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other.
  • Software and technology skills are required.
  • Must be motivated to provide the best services possible.
  • Must be able to respect confidentiality. Confidentiality must be maintained and followed along with FERPA and HIPPA regulations.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Trustworthiness dependability and a positive attitude are a must.
Confidentiality is necessary due to the sensitive nature of data handled.
Typing skills writing skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word Excel Publisher Power Point etc.) are required.
Willingness to learn Financial Aid Lingo and Regulations as amended by Federal & State levels
Experience Indexing and using multi-function copying machines preferred.
