Job Description
Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta serving the education needs of approximately 17950 students in 42 schools. EIPS is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) Junior High Physical Education and Outdoor Education Teacher and Athletic Director at Sherwood Heights Junior High.
Sherwood Heights Junior High serves approximately 630 students in grades 7 to 9 with 32 teaching staff and 11 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park AB.
Sherwood Heights Junior High offers a safe and secure environment for students to meet their educational needs with dual-track English and French Immersion programming as well as the Logos Christian program.. The school offers several interesting extracurricular and noon-hour activities.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education degree
- Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- Effective organization and classroom management skills
- Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe supported and challenged
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
