The Vice-President Process Optimization and Change Management is accountable for developing prioritizing and managing a robust pipeline of strategic process improvement initiatives across Personal & Business Banking (PBB) and Commercial Banking &Wealth Management (CBWM) businesses.
The VP ensures that strategic growth and regulatory process changes are aligned across businesses and with enterprise priorities through strategic reviews of segments lines of business (s) functions and processes. The role ensures that productivity strategies are well-articulated delivered in alignment with a rolling 3-year roadmap and benefits realized through ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement activities.
The VP supports productivity and operational excellence priorities by ensuring that critical business processes meet client employee regulator and business needs and that services are delivered on time and with the highest quality and in the most cost-effective manner. Acts as a catalyst for transformation cross-platform collaboration and new capability development that integrates next generation technologies where appropriate. Serves as thought partners to senior executives and Line of Business partners by offering targeted end-to-end views of the highest priority and often most complex strategic and process-related problems as well as accelerating continuous process improvement activities with measurable impact to frontline productivity and client experience. Plays an instrumental role in the regulatory compliance of the overall business unit strategies through active change management and collaboration with enterprise risk partners on significant regulatory change.

What Youll be Doing
Business Process Optimization and Thought Leadership:
Partnering with Business Architecture create and maintain a roadmap of process enhancements contributing to overall SBU productivity targets. Ensure the establishment of appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to track and realize benefits aligned to SBU strategic plans.
Maintain oversight on progress on the process optimization portfolio with senior executives and provide thought leadership on priorities anticipated investments operational challenges and potential threats to delivery.
Collaborate with business teams in product distribution and digital to identify and quantify process improvement opportunities.
Lead develop prioritize manage and execute a portfolio of strategic process improvement initiatives leveraging end-to-end design lean process management workflow management and zero-base design principles. Focus on improvement opportunities to eliminate non-value activities simplify centralize and automate inefficient practices.
Collaborate with the Business Architecture team identify opportunities to integrate new technologies for accelerate productivity lift and partner across CIBC infrastructure teams to deliver transformational solutions.
Collaborate with Enterprise Process Engineering team in delivering process improvements to the SBU by providing direction on initiatives and desired outcomes and closely participating to deliver end-to-end simplification.
Build engagement for continuous improvement with frontline teams and partners through Idea Hive and other targeted programs to enhance client and employee experience and productivity.
Leverage experiences from incidents regulatory examinations complaints litigation and similar issues as an opportunity to develop or enhance processes and policies.
Review adoption and adherence to operational best practices to prioritize and address control gaps and improve the overall operational effectiveness.
Regulatory Change:
Sponsor and/or act as overall PBB and/or CBWM business lead on enterprise and SBU regulatory change initiatives coordinating closely with project delivery People Change Management (PCM) and leads to operationalize processes within required timelines and adhere to new standards and modify behaviours.
Establish and maintain appropriate governance for a holistic SBU view of regulatory changes impacting different stakeholders key strategic decisions required to deliver competitive and industry views timely escalation and effective management of risks and appropriate resourcing.
Establish and maintain a operational change board to manage cross- and cross-regulatory change conflicts anticipate risks collectively and collaborate on opportunities to optimize delivery.
Work with s and Business Controls to ensure effective monitoring and oversight of regulatory changes and sustainment of processes upon handover to teams to business as usual.
Scan and monitor potential changes on the regulatory horizon to anticipate potential impact to stakeholders and ensure businesses are well positioned to respond to changes.
Change Management:
Oversee the change management center of excellence to provide change advisory support to the PBB and CBWM organizations.
Advise on change impacts and risks and maintaining a risk register for overall optimization of initiative objectives.
Provide advisory support and collaborate on development of employee communication and engagement plans that will influence the mindset and behavior changes in support of overall organization performance.
Advise on strategies to increase engagement and adoption of new processes and procedures.
Act as a center of expertise for collaboration development change management and communication.
Establish and maintain stakeholder client and executive management relationships to effectively influence strategic priorities facilitate decision making and to develop risk mitigated strategies.
Act as the trusted advisor to the SEVP & Group Head of PBB /CBWM EVP & CAO and Executive Project Sponsor and Steering Committee when providing advice and counsel on business requirements aimed at optimizing PBB/CBWM service delivery and operational effectiveness.
What Were Looking For
Critical thinking through university education MBA or graduate level degree preferred.
Extensive experience and knowledge of financial markets wealth management and banking with a minimum of 10 years of industry experience of which 5 years of which must have been in a leadership role.
A deep understanding of financial operational management systems/tools and processes that exist across lines of business to enable continuous improvement of internal processes.
Strategic thinking; Ability to apply thought leadership and complex concepts to ensure the operational support offer ensure a competitive edge for the business.
Experience leading large strategic project teams and a demonstrated ability in project and process design management and implementation.
Comfort working in rapidly evolving environments ambiguous situations across different businesses and adapting to new/emerging technologies.
Effective communication & relationship building skill.
Strong influential skills sufficient to compel diverse groups to align to common goals that involve matters of major business strategy.
Strong ability to present and communicate concepts/ideas in a clear and persuasive manner.
Knowledge of CIBC organization sufficient to develop and improve complex practices and processes in closely related operational activities.
Clearly demonstrated success in project/program execution requiring re-engineering of processes to achieve performance improvements.
Leadership and people management skills sufficient to motivate a senior team faced with significant change.
