Job Description

ESS provides multi-service capability to major companies and organisations operating in remote sites gold mines and coal fields. We provide vital workplace support for people working in some of the most isolated terrains in the world from oil rigs in the North Sea to gold mines in the Australian Outback.

We are currently seeking an experienced Chef Supervisor to work out at our Hail Creek Village in Central Queensland catering for approximately800-900 residents. This role reports directly to the Head Chef and Site Management but would also need to be able to supervise up to approximately 15 employees at any given time.

  • Work a 14 days on 7 days off roster earning a salary of $101675
  • Enjoy free on-site Gym access swimming pools & recreational facilities
  • FIFO from Brisbane Townsville or Rockhampton

The Position:

  • Work collaboratively with a team of Chefs Kitchen Utilities and Dining Room employees.
  • Buffet style bulk cooking for Breakfast Crib Lunch and / or Dinner and Desserts
  • Ensure OH&S compliance adhering to safe work practices and food handling procedures.
  • Ensure all catering controls are in place and wastage is kept to a minimum.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene safety infection control and cleanliness in accordance with Compass standards.
  • Managing catering team performance and employee development
  • Enhance workplace culture display high levels of customer service contribute ideas & be flexible to meet the needs of the business.

The Person:

  • Trade Cert 3 in Commercial Cookery - Minimum
  • Demonstrated experience at a Sous Chef level or higher
  • Experience within bulk catering environments/ commercial kitchens
  • Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and operations
  • Excellent food safety knowledge
  • Experience with hygienic work practices and appropriate HACCP guidelines
