Position Summary
Guilford College a member of NCAA Division III and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) located in Greensboro N.C. is seeking two (2) individuals for the positions of Graduate Assistant for Athletic Communication. These positions are open to those who are in the process of enrolling in a graduate program at Guilford College or have recently been accepted to a graduate program at Guilford. Enrollment in one of Guilford Colleges graduate programs is a requirement of this position.
The Graduate Assistants will assist the Athletic Communications Department in the management of rosters schedules statistics and storylines for all twenty-two Guilford Athletics programs and will assist in the creation of media content.
The Athletic Communication GAs will be an integral member of the Guilford Athletics Department regarding the planning and implementation of athletics content to engage supporters and promote teams and athletes. Additionally this position will assist the department of compliance and perform relevant duties regarding game operations and general athletics office support.
Graduate assistants will receive:
An annual stipend of $3000

Position Responsibilities:
Assist in the management of rosters schedules and statistics for all 22 Athletics programs through the NCAA and
Write previews recaps and personal interest stories for
Assist in the creation and management of all Guilford Athletics media including photography graphics and video
Assist in the production of live broadcasts for all home competitions
Use social media platforms to enhance the reach of content and engagement
Report to the Director of Athletics assist in the planning and execution of Athletics events
Assist Compliance and Athletics Office upon request and other duties as assigned
Position Requirements/Preferred Experience:
Bachelors degree in a related field (Sports Management Communications Business Administration)
Must be accepted to one of Guilford Colleges graduate programs
At least one year of working experience in the college or professional sports communications fields
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong journalistic writing ability and knowledge of AP style
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop & InDesign
Experience with NCAA LiveStats (Genius Sports) Stat Crew and PrestoStats software
Diligent and organized working habits
