Job Description

Company Overview:

The accountant (Reference A001) will be based in Croydon and is responsible for assisting the finance function for the organization and the development of core business in the Company.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting taxation and financial reporting with a focus on working within an accountancy practice. He/ She will join our team and support company mission to deliver excellence in care through strong financial management and strategic planning. The role provides an excellent opportunity for career progression.


Key responsibilities:


Bookkeep and Accounting :

Maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable accounts receivable and general ledger entries.

Review and control of invoices process payments process and bank reconciliations

  • Manage expenses control
  • Assist with monthly payroll processing including payroll payment and employee expense claims
  • Prepare month end closing for group companies
  • Small business accounting
  • CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) accounting
  • Liaise with external accountants as needed


Financial and Management Reporting:

Prepare company management accounts including a comprehensive overview of financial statement performance comparing actual results with budget and forecast with a clear narrative and explanation for senior management

Prepare monthly balance sheet and cash flow analysis including analysis of cash and working capital

Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations


Year End statutory accounts and taxation process

  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
  • Driving the timeliness and accuracy of statutory financial reporting by all group companies ensure compliance with financial reporting standard
  • Prepare and review corporate tax returns VAT returns and CIS filing
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines for annual filings and tax submissions.









Qualifications & Experience:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in accountancy practice with exposure to dealing with a diverse client portfolio.
  • CIS accounting knowledge (required)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
  • Proven ability to prepare and review financial statements tax returns management accounts and tax returns.

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.

  • Commitment to professional development and keeping up with industry changes.


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 36000.00- 45000.00 per year
