These duties are to be performed in a highly confidential manner following the mission values and behaviors of Insight Hospital and Medical Center. Employees are further expected to provide a high quality of care service and kindness toward all patients staff physicians volunteers and guests.
Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for the tracking coordination and communication of patient referrals
- Assembles information concerning patients clinical background and referral needs.
- Contacts insurance companies to ensure verification of benefits and prior authorization approval requirements are met as needed.
- Reviews details and expectation of referral with the potential patient.
- Assists patients in problem solving potential issues related financial or social barriers (e.g. request interpreters as appropriate transportation services etc.)
- Ensures that referrals are addressed in a timely manner. Reminds patients of scheduled appointment.Communication with referral sources to ensure patient information/ registration is complete.
- Communicates patient updates between program and referring source
- Greets all patients and families in an enthusiastic sensitive and supportive manner while understanding the importance of service excellence.
- Organizes and sends out visit notes and results to third party referral sources.
- Answers incoming phone calls as necessary and provides information to caller according to departmental guidelines.
- Enthusiastically answers general patient and guest inquiries.
- Provide support and/or relief coverage as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge: High School Diploma required. Skills: Good oral and written communication skills required. Previous experience with data entry on a computer system preferred. Must have excellent organizational skills required. Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology preferred. Previous customer service and or education preferred. Abilities: Ability to provide excellent customer service at all times particularly with more difficult patients required. Ability to multi-task required. Ability to work independently as well as be a leader in the team environment required. Benefits:Paid Sick Time - effective 90 days after employment.
