    JOB SUMMARY:
    This position is designed to run the School Library Media Center provide primary support for school technology issues and is expected to perform basic duties of a library media specialist assisting staff students and various instructional related activities and nonteaching assignments.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Associates Degree or 48 college credits; or have taken and passed the
    Paraprofessional Test; and has knowledge and/or experience with School
    Library Media services.

    3. Proficient in basic keyboarding skills and is able to effectively use Microsoft

    machines laminating machines A-V basic digital camera/recording equipment.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

    1. Assists in the preparation of the School Library Media Center as a future ready welcoming and collaborative learning environment.
    2. Provide primary support for school technology issues which includes but not limited to managing Chromebook device inventory and distribution troubleshooting and reporting technology issues powerwashing devices and end of year device collections.
    3. Assists students and teachers in the use of library facilities and services.
    4. Performs various circulation duties; including ordering and receiving books checking books in and out sorting and shelving books maintaining accurate circulation records preparing requisitions and selecting books for purchase and distribution.
    5. Maintains shelf lists and card catalog; sets up bulletin boards and thematic displays.
    6. Contacts students and parents about overdue or damaged materials and collects fines.
    7. Makes minor repairs on damaged books and/or School Library Media equipment.
    8. Monitors School Library Media Center usage and keeps accurate attendance records.
    9. Readies books for reserve on teachers requests and maintains the reserve shelf.
    10. Prepares current magazines for shelving and maintains the back-number stacks.
    11. Assists in the annual inventory of library materials prepares lists of missing books and books to be discarded and completes accurate annual state reports.
    12. Maintains current inventory of supplies and suggests items for acquisition as needed.
    13. Oversees the general neatness and attractiveness of the School Library Media Center.
    14. Helps students locate reference materials and other instructional materials to support and reinforce classroom instruction and assisting in fulfilling teachers requests.
    15. Performs other duties as assigned.
    PAY AND HOURS:
    Placement on the Queen Annes County Support Salary Schedule is commensurate with experience and preparation. This is a 10 month position with a minimum of 35 hours per week.
