POSITION:Painter
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 3 years of documented experience in commercial or institutional painting. Demonstrated proficiency in surface preparation application of finishes and paint maintenance techniques. Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations. Valid South Carolina drivers license. Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for painting finishing and maintaining painted surfaces across all District Five buildings and facilities. Ensures that school environments are clean attractive and well-maintained to support a positive learning environment. Performs surface preparation painting and minor drywall repair as needed. Maintains compliance with safety regulations and district standards.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors with exposure to environmental conditions such as heat cold humidity dust fumes wetness and heights. Work includes use of paints and strong agents which require proper handling and use. Job requires occasional strenuous physical exertion in lifting and moving items weighing up to seventy-fifty pounds. Routine local travel requires the operation of a vehicle (provided by the district which must remain on district property after work hours) maintenance equipment machinery and tools. Work assignments often require constant focus and attention.
