Chickering Elementary School seeks a Long Term Substitute Special Education Teacher to cover an MPLA Leave. (August 25 2025 through December 23 2025)Gillingham Certification and experience providing individualized instruction across academic social and behavioral domains. Competency and experience in administering standardized and criterion-referenced assessments developing IEPs and monitoring student progress are essential. Effective strategies for optimal student engagement and facilitating accommodations and modifications to support student access within the general education classroom are imperative. Responsibilities:Conducts standardized and informal assessments Effective use of strategies and knowledge of pedagogy to teach students with disabilities Communication skills both with staff and parents Serves as a case manager for students with disabilitiesCultural proficiency and responsivenessQualifications:Masters Degree in Special EducationLicensure in Moderate DisabilitiesWilson Reading CertificationExperience and/or training in administering interpreting and reporting on diagnostic assessment Knowledge of inclusive education both practically and philosophicallyStrength in team building and managementStrength in parent outreach and supportOur district is committed to strengthening opportunities for diversity equity and inclusion.
