Located 20km west of Sydney on Dharug country with a population of 240000 residents Cumberland City Council is the fourth most populous Local Government Area in Greater Sydney. Cumberland City Council is proud to offer two (2) Apprentice - Parks and Gardens roles in line with the fresh start for local government apprentices trainees and cadets in conjunction with the NSW Government. These apprenticeships offer a combination of on-the-job work experience combined with the completion of a nationally recognised qualification Certificate III Horticulture through TAFE or a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
The Apprentice - Parks and Gardens role is responsible for undertaking activities that will assist in the maintenance of Councils City Open Spaces including passive parks sportsgrounds recreation facilities bushland and riparian areas and ensure that these open spaces remain in excellent condition safe and suitable for use by the community to assist in ensuring customer and community satisfaction with Councils parks operations.

About this role:
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
Eligibility criteria:
Council adheres to the principles of a child safe organisation and is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people and fully supports the aims and objectives of NSW Child Protection Legislation and associated provisions. Council will implement all necessary measures to ensure a safe and supportive environment which endeavours to promote child protection practices.
