Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Material Specialist will work with Team Leader and Group Leader to attain daily schedule requirements. Material Specialist is responsible for a group of machines or material area and support operators in these areas; these include but are not limited to quality inspections and material support. The material specialist will be responsible monitoring a specific delivery route and delivering parts to the operators within a specified area at the correct quantities. The material specialist will insure that the operators will have all parts needed so that the operator will never have to leave the work station.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following:

- Proactive approach to promote and support safe working environment required to complete Hazardous Observation form as needed promptly report all safety concerns.

- Counts weighs or measures incoming or outgoing items to compare identifying information and variety against schedule or orders; examines product and packaging for damage and correct piece counts. Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation.

- Provides on the job training to employees and resolves problems utilizing knowledge of material flow/shipping/receiving/stock operations.

- Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts pallet jacks hand trucks or dollies

- Participates in routing counting and functional testing of all items.

- Performs quality inspections Final & FPE audits on all products before Okaying to move; logs data for QA.

- Performs 5S duties and checklists for work area.

- Work order completes product labels product and skids product; prepares product for shipping.

- Perform transaction using SAP .

- Performs minor repairs on stock items such as boxes & follows NCM procedure on all nonconforming products.

- Support the Team Leader and Group Leader in continuous improvement efforts.

- Assures work centers are stocked.

REQUIREMENTS

-Must have high school diploma or GED

-Must support safety policies and practices that apply to assigned area.

-Math skills and ability to calculate or learn to calculate ratios for material mixing.

-Strong interpersonal skills with ability to effectively interact with people.

-Ability to obtain a fork truck license within 30 days

- Ability to learn basic PM and minor machine adjustment.

-Must be able to communicate effectively (written and verbal).

-Must be self motivated.

-Demonstrated positive performance record.

- Strong aptitude to effectively train others.

- Flexible with work schedule.

OTHER NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES.

  • High degree of flexibility and ability to work with multiple and changing priorities.
