The University Counseling Center is an integrated Behavioral health clinic. We have 16 full time licensed staff counselors with degrees in Counseling and Social Work 4 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners a Psychiatrist and a full Operations/Support staff.

Provide mental health counseling for students; presents outreach and educational programs to the University community to support the mental wellbeing of students faculty and staff of the university.
This position is a Staff Counselor position. Staff counselors provide individual and group counseling along with some Outreach and prevention services on our campus.
These essential functions include but are not limited to the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Provides professional mental health counseling to students in the form of individual group and couples therapy.
crisis intervention for students experiencing a psychological emergency.
3. Consults with academic departments and student affairs departments.
4. May be involved in crisis prevention or aiding with adjustment problems after a major life event.
5. Maintains confidential records.
Education:A Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology Social Work or related field from an accredited four-year college or University.
Experience: Two(2) years of experience including practicum or internship related to the above-described duties.
Licensure: Incumbent must be licensed in an area related to the above-described duties. Must be licensed to practice in Mississippi (by date of hire) as LPC P-LPC LMSW or LCSW.
Anticipated start date June 1.
